How Kettlebells Are Helping Get Me in the Best Shape of My Life

By Rob Sutter

One of my friends gave me a group of kettlebells for Christmas last year. Kind of a bizarre item to try and wrap but there it is. They also got me a few informative training and workout videos. These things will with a bit of luck get me into the best shape that I've ever been in. Who knows, maybe next year I will pay it forward and get them for someone else.

Why are kettlebells such a helpful tool for exercising? First of all, kettlebells help you use muscles that you normally wouldn't. The deep muscle work that you can get from using kettlebells cannot be achieved by most other conventional forms of workouts, as shown by fitness authorities like Lorna. Yoga, Pilates, and aerobics all fade in comparison to kettlebell exercises and the deep muscle/tendon work.

Kettlebell workouts are one of the few that provide the afterburn effect. The afterburn effect is where your body proceeds on to burn fat and calories long after you have stopped working out. This consequence can last as long as two days, making this form of training the perfect exercises to help spark a slow metabolism and maximize the advantages of working out.

There's also a sense of convenience that accompanies these sets of kettlebells. In fact, I have one resting at home so that exercising after work or during weekends is a nonissue. You also have to consider the shorter time it takes to work out with these. On the whole, I feel like this might have been the most worthwhile investment I have ever done.

My friends, who knew my desire to get healthier but also comprehending how busy I am made the best decision in getting me a complete kettlebell training package. The videos, coupled with the distinct weights themselves, have aided to propel me on my way to the best shape of my life. I even took those before pictures to have proof of what I looked like. I can't wait because in two months of assiduously training, I'm hoping the after pictures will be breathtaking.
