Anti-Aging: A Possibility?

By Ken Godberson

Hate to break it to you, but immortality does not exist. There is no fountain of youth or some elixir of life. Eventually, you will grow old and die. However, there is no reason that you have to look or feel your age. There are many tips that vary from proper nutrition to exercise to products that can not only make you look younger but feel younger as well.

As we are told, time and time again, it is important to have a healthy diet. This is true. We should try to maintain proper nutrition and watch what we eat. Avoid massive amounts of fat, sugar and salt. Even when snacking, instead of that bag of chips, try to think a bit healthier. There are many snack foods, such as nuts (containing Vitamin E and omega 3 fatty acids that aid protecting the skin and delay skin aging), berries (source of antioxidants) or even a cup of green tea (contains polyphenols that help fight and repair free radical damage).

Again, we are told to exercise often. Getting out and going for a jog, even if it's three to four times a week, gets the heart rate up and increases your breath rate, strengthening your air capacity. Just try not to overdo exercising or it can burn your body out. Exercise is not only limited to the body. Keep yourself mentally sharp with such activities as a crossword puzzle or Sudoku.

Finally, there are several products that can aid in the anti-aging process. Knowing how to protect your skin from harmful ultraviolet rays with proper anti-aging lotions or cream can help promote proper maintenance and even protection from environmental hazards. It is recommended on consulting a dermatologist to help determine what would be the right products to use.

While it won't grant you immortality, there are several techniques you can utilize to create an anti-aging process that also promotes good health. Through proper nutrition, regular exercise and the certain lotions or creams, you and look and feel much younger than you are!
